Let’s Clear Things Up

We are so excited to celebrate with you! Here are some answers to questions you may have.

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by September 1st, 2025. We need to finalize our numbers for the venue, we'll assume you are not coming if you don't RSVP.

Can I bring a plus-one?

We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding as we would like to keep the guest list just to those who know us well. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation, and no additional guests can be accommodated at this time.

Are children allowed?

We love your children, but due to space constraints, we are unable to accommodate children at our wedding. We hope you can make arrangements for a babysitter so you can enjoy the evening with us!

What is the dress code?

The dress code is cocktail semi-formal. Since the wedding is in the fall, we’d love for you to embrace warm, rich tones that complement the season. Click here for more details.

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards, located at 11143 Evangeline Trail, Wolfville, NS B4P 2R1.

Have you reserved a hotel block?

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Old Orchard Inn, located at 153 Greenwich Rd S, Greenwich, NS B4P 2R3. These rooms will be held until August 1. Please refer to your wedding invitation for instructions on how to book your room. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from the venue.

What should I do if I don't make it into the hotel block?

If you miss the deadline for booking in our block, reach out to the Old Orchard Inn to see if they have any rooms available at the normal rate. If not, there are several other hotels in the area, including the Acadia Inn and the Blomidon Inn. We recommend booking as soon as possible, as this is a busy time of year in Wolfville.

What's the easiest way to get to the venue?

The venue is about a 1.5-hour drive from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). If you are flying in, we recommend renting a car or arranging a ride share to get to the venue. Public transportation is limited in Nova Scotia.

Will there be shuttles to and from the venue?

Yes! We will have a shuttle bus to take guests from the Old Orchard Inn to the venue and back. The shuttle will leave the hotel at 4:30 PM and return after the reception ends.

Is there parking available?

Yes! There is plenty of parking available at the venue for those who will not be making use of the shuttle service. Please keep in mind that there is no overnight parking.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Lightfoot & Wolfville has a beautiful outdoor space with stunning views of the vineyard and surrounding area. We are planning for an indoor ceremony and reception, but if the weather is nice, we may have the ceremony outside. We will keep you updated as the date approaches.

What's the weather like in October?

The weather in Nova Scotia in October can be unpredictable, but it is usually mild with temperatures ranging from 10-15 degrees Celsius (50-60 degrees Fahrenheit).

What is the wedding day itinerary?

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by cocktail hour, dinner and the reception. We will update this website with a detailed itinerary closer to the date.

What time does the reception end?

The reception will end at 11:00 PM. We will have a shuttle bus available to take guests back to the hotel after the reception.

Where are you registered for wedding gifts?

As we live abroad, we are not able to accept physical gifts. If you would like to get us something, we would love for you to contribute to our honeymoon fund instead.

What type of food will be served?

We’re excited to serve a selection of dishes that cater to a variety of dietary preferences, including vegan and gluten-free options. Your meal choice will be based on what you selected when you RSVP’d.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! We will have an open bar for the duration of the reception, including beer, wine and cocktails. Shots and shooters will not be served. We will also have a selection of non-alcoholic beverages available.

Is it okay to post wedding photos on social media?

We’ll have professional photographers capturing the special moments, so we kindly ask that you keep phones away during the ceremony and dinner. Feel free to take and share photos during the cocktail hour and reception!

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Yes! We would love for you to use the hashtag #SammiSaysIDOucet when posting photos from the wedding. We can’t wait to see all the memories you capture!

Can you suggest things to do in the area?

Wolfville is a beautiful town with plenty of things to do! We recommend checking out the local wineries, hiking in Cape Blomidon Provincial Park, or exploring the shops and restaurants in downtown Wolfville. Check out the "Things to Do" page for more recommendations.
